About VL Studio

Experienced Website Designer

Senior Digital Producer & Customer Experience (CX) Strategist

For over 20 years I worked in digital agencies in London and Wellington, NZ, managing digital projects and marketing campaigns for corporate clients, charities and government agencies. At this point in my life I want to balance work with family, and this led me to set up my own business.

My passion is collaborating with business owners to express their brand and vision through content and marketing strategy, website design and campaigns.

For example:

  • Taking a poor-performing website and identifying the problems that customers are experiencing, and addressing these barriers.
  • Identifying the target audience and creating content that resonates with them.
  • Connecting with audience segments in the most appropriate channels.

I take time to understand your business, your customers, your vision, and your goals before I design the content and website supporting great customer experiences.

Training LLM Models

During 2024 and 2025, I also worked part-time for a well-known AI company, training LLM models and coaching others. This involved writing high-quality prompts that met the project specifications, and it was highly detailed work. This work kept me at the forefront of emerging technologies and helped me test and develop strong AI prompting skills.

Experiments with AI tools

In my spare time, I enjoy experimenting with new technology including Vibe coding tools and AI video creation. You also will find me editing videos for fun when I am not out walking with the dogs. This helps me explore with technology to see what efficiencies can be gained through my workflows, such as prototyping and brainstorming with AI tools, and augmenting my broad skillset.

Let’s connect and share notes if you are experimenting with this too!

A full-service agency creating engaging customer experiences across different mediums (emails, websites, video, imagery and social media) for different brands online requires a mix of skillsets:

  • Marketing
  • Content writing
  • Multimedia design

And guess what? I studied all those area and reinforced the skills through my 20+ year career working in agencies in London and Wellington. These are:

  • Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing and Commercial Law
  • Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Literature and Anthropology (which is the study of research of different cultures, which is a foundation for human-centred design).
  • Diploma in Multimedia, covering website UX/UI design and build, photography, video, design, 3D, and animation.

Digital Production Experience

Throughout my career in digital, brand, marketing and advertising agencies, I worked in a range of creative, strategic and management roles:

  • Digital producer: generally 50% hands on creating customer experiences in design or code, and the other 50% managing a team to produce bigger work (content, design or code). My ethos is always to get things done with a high quality finish.
  • Project manager: leading and managing teams, detailing requirements, stakeholder relationships, proposals, scope, budget and timeline.
  • Product manager: managing the squad and responsible for the overall customer experience. Analysing how customers are interacting with the website or app, user testing to get insights, managing the backlog of detailed requirements, and prioritising the most important work.

I honed project management skills across different methodologies, including waterfall, lean, agile, and scrum. In 2006, I qualified as a PRINCE2 Foundation practitioner.

I utilise a ‘product development lifecycle’ framework, focusing on delivering impact early, iterating fast, and getting input regularly. I value the importance of human-centred design, and I keep the customer at the heart of everything I create, ensuring user journeys are mapped out and that we understand the most important problems to solve for the customers.
